The Racer is the original LIKEaBIKE, the first that Rolf Merten invented, and was granted the German "Spiel-Gut" (Good-Play) award. This signifies that LIKEaBIKE has been tested with children and examined by experts with a positive result. The criteria for the award are: play value, material, workmanship, construction, durability, safety, design, size, quantity, quality of the instructions for playing or making, suitability for the appropriate age group.

It has cast solid rubber tyres, which are perfect for use on hard surfaces, indoor or outside, but they are not as efficient on soft ground.

The Racer is now over 12 years old and was the first learner bike ever invented. Later designs of LIKEaBIKE have pneumatic tyres making them even more useable off road, but the Racer is still a popular model - a true design classic!

Safety features include a unique patented steering damper that stops your child turning the handlebar too far, preventing jackknifing accidents and little fingers getting trapped. The frames are incredibly smooth with no sharp edges. There are lots of lovely accessories available to make them even more fun and really personalise them.
