For Schools & Education

We have seen a great improvement in children's balance, co-ordination and fitness since we introduced the LIKEaBIKEs to Kate Greenaway Nursery School and Children's Centre.

LIKEaBIKE for learning

Learning to ride a bicycle is one of life's milestones, and the first step to gaining true independence. And for parents there is no prouder moment than seeing a child pedalling away confidently in the distance.

The LIKEaBIKE phenomenon continues to grow as more parents find out the many benefits of the original and best learner bike!

LIKEaBIKE is cool for school!

Cyclesense is committed to providing advice and encouragement on all things cycling to the community at large.

This includes providing LIKEaBIKEs to local nurseries, giving talks in schools and supplying bespoke solutions for children with disabilities.

From practical, easy-to-understand information on cycling safely in traffic, to how to prepare yourself and your bike for riding, Cyclesense works with the local community to educate riders large and small on the benefits of safe and healthy cycling.

Balance and motor skills

Children are natural learners and love to make independent progress. Between the ages of two and five years old they are finding out about movement and balance and developing 'gross motor skills'. These help to improve the child's body awareness, reaction speed, balance and strength through actions such as lifting, kicking, running and throwing. Since gross motor skills are improved with practice, children need plenty of opportunities to use them.

LIKEaBIKE and Dyspraxia

For children with developmental dyspraxia, riding a bike can be so difficult that some never learn at all. We believe LIKEaBIKEs could help many of these children to gain the confidence and balance they need.

The recent introduction of the LIKEaBIKE Maxi means that older children and small adults now have the chance to learn balance and steering the LIKEaBIKE way.

If you believe your child might have dyspraxia, please see your GP or contact the Dyspraxia Foundation for further information.

And of course, if you've found LIKEaBIKE has helped your dyspraxic child, we'd love to hear from you!
